The 'Cabin of the Crazy One' is Dharma Ocean's solitary retreat cabin.  Co-located with the Dharma Ocean Retreat center, this cabin provides a safe yet isolated environment, surrounded by the natural beauty of the San Luis Valley. The window behind the shrine reveals the majesty of Ritro Gönpo and other beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains. The balcony outside the second floor looks out onto the vast San Luis Valley and across to the horizon for some of the most beautiful and inspiring sunsets you will ever see.


Porch ViewDeer, elk, and other wildlife visit near the cabin from time to time; it is truly an inspiring place to practice. You can practice inside with the shrine, or use the platform on the balcony for sky-gazing and working with the elements.


Cabin of the Crazy OneThe cabin is solar-powered. The kitchen has a refrigerator and the cooking stove is propane-fired for cooking your meals. There are two sinks for doing dishes. The kitchen is equipped with cookware and dining sets. A wood-burning stove keeps the cabin warm in winter—firewood is included. The spacious shrine room is large enough to do yoga and full length prostrations, offering flexibility for practitioners of any lineage.
