In order to offer opportunities for intensive group practice, Dharma Ocean has established a retreat center in Crestone, Colorado. Nestled against the Sangre de Cristo mountains and overlooking the San Luis Valley, this project exists in two main parts: a Shrine Hall and Residence Hall.
Covering approximately 12,000 square feet, the Shrine Hall offers covered patios, a professional kitchen and dining area, support facilities, and ready access to some of Crestone's most striking terrain. The main feature of this building - its spacious shrine room - is large enough to host over one hundred and fifty participants. The Residence Hall, presently under construction, is located only a short walk from the shrine facility. Individual, double, and handicap-accessible rooms will provide housing for short- and long-term retreatants. Find out more about renting this facility or about getting here.
Dharma Ocean is also implementing a careful landscaping of the retreat center’s impressive geography. This work will draw ritual space, a teaching amphitheater and earth shrine, walking paths, and a number of unique gardens out of the site’s existing shape and character. When completed, the landcaping will allow us to immerse in the unique power and beauty of this place.
