The Dharma Ocean Retreat Center in Crestone, Colorado is situated in a high-plains, sub-mountain desert environment.  At 8,000 feet, the environment is beautiful, rugged, remote, and dry.   Although the town of Crestone boasts a health-food store, the nearest pharmacy and physician are an hour away.  Please see what to bring to prepare yourself for this enviornment.

 

If you take any sort of prescription medication - especially asthma medication - be sure to bring an adequate supply. Please do not plan to alter prescription dosages without your doctor’s approval while at retreat.

 

You are encouraged you to have your own health insurance in place.  Lastly, you are encouraged to prepare for a quiet, soulful experience away from the hustle and convenience of city life.
