ROTA

An essential part of all Dharma Ocean programs is ROTA:  "Rotating work assignments" (or Remarkable Opportunity for Transcendent Action).  ROTA can be viewed as a practical aspect of community life, as meditation-in-action, and as an opportunity to serve others.  It is the work we each do to contribute to the harmony of the group as a whole.  Examples of ROTA assignments include sweeping, assisting in the kitchen, and helping to clean up after meals.  Assignments vary from one program to the next, but often do not exceed an hour of work in a given day, and participants usually will have a "day off" in-between ROTA assignments.  If you have physical limitations that will restrict you from doing certain tasks, please let us know well in advance of your program.
