Buddhism The essence of the Buddha's teaching is a path of transformation that guides the practitioner from the beginning stages up to full realization. In Chögyam Trungpa's Tibetan Buddhist lineage, this path is expressed in the three-yana journey. The first yana, the Hinayana, connects us with our deeper mind through the practice of meditation. In the Mahayana, we touch the selfless compassion that is our human essence and extend it to all who suffer. In the Vajrayana, we directly experience both our inborn enlightenment and the liberating wisdom of everyday experience.
Dharma Ocean's training provides study and practice at all levels of this journey. Following a curriculum developed by Chögyam Trungpa, practitioners are thoroughly immersed in the Hinayana and Mahayana before having the full range of Trungpa Rinpoche's Vajrayana teachings made available. The Dharma Ocean community currently includes some two hundred tantric practitioners who meet for study and practice throughout the year. |
