Community Trungpa Rinpoche emphasized that when practitioners of this lineage gather in committed community, they support and encourage one another into the bravery, wakefulness, rejoicing, and wildness of the journey.
The central community within Dharma Ocean is the Dhyanasangha — students who have taken the Dharmasagara lineage as the heart of their spiritual journey. This group comprises practitioners living in the Denver-Boulder-Crestone area, and others from City Sanghas and Dharma Ocean meditation groups in North America and elsewhere. Dhyanasangha offers practice and study intensives, as well as opportunities for socializing and camaraderie. The community meets several times a year in Crestone and Boulder for these purposes.
There are a number of smaller groups within the Dhyanasangha, and many opportunities for informal study, practice, and socializing. Some of these smaller communities serve a growing number of senior students, teachers, and meditation instructors; Vajrayana practitioners at both tantrika and sadhaka levels; parents of young children; the City Sanghas; and the Mahasangha. This last group is a means for non-Colorado residents to remain connected with the teachings unfolding in the foundation's Crestone home. |
