A Week-Long Intensive to Bring Embodied Awareness into Every Aspect of Our Life

Join Tami Simon for this week-long retreat designed for people who have experience with Dharma Ocean's somatic  practices. When we gather together as practitioners who already have a level of familiarity with somatic meditation, there is an immediate invitation for us to drop into a deeper space of embodied awareness, supported by each other and the practices.

In this week-long retreat, we will focus on being in the body while on the cushion and also while in motion – while walking, at meal times, during rota periods, and when in dialogue with each other. Tami will also introduce us to a series of standing meditations from the qigong tradition that allow us to work with opening the central channel while standing (in addition to exploring the openness of the central channel in the seated posture). The goal is to train ourselves to be connected to our embodied awareness in every moment of our life.

We will also explore how to bring the Meditating with the Body techniques and insights into the sitting practice of "Pure Awareness", refining our "posture as practice" such that we discover stability, relaxation, and openness on the cushion. We will work in-depth with the practices of whole-body breathing, yin breathing,  and earth breathing in the seated position, as well as several different techniques to open and expand the central channel, enabling us to explore sitting meditation as an invitation to rest in the natural state.

There are limited seats available for this service, therefore we suggest that you choose this option at registration if you need this service and would like to guarantee a seat. We have endeavored to keep the fee associated with this chartered shuttle as low as possible and competitive with other public transportation options. The cost of the shuttle is $140 round trip.

For the return trip, the charter bus will leave BMRC at 11:45 am and arrive at the Denver airport at 4:15 pm. Please plan your outbound flight accordingly. We recommend a flight that departs after 6:30 pm if you fly out that same day.

*Note: We will not be offering a local shuttle between Moffat and Blazing Mountain Retreat Center.
