SUMMARY:Deepening the Skill of Being
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n\n\nFor New and Experienced Meditation Instructors\nOur training as Bodhisattvas is to draw on the deepest wellsprings of being so that the compassion inherent in the ground of all things can flow through us to benefit others. Skillful means are the spontaneous response of being itself\, and emerge from the openness and connection that we cultivate in our practice. \nThis year\, in keeping with our VTI theme of building authentic community\, we will focus on honing our skillful means in relating to students and to one another\, with openness\, love\, and clarity. \nThere will be two concurrent streams of training: \nThe first stream is for aspiring MIs and MIs who may work with students but would like to brush up on basic skills\, because you have been inactive\, provisional\, or have discovered personal obstacles you would like to work with in your MI relationships. \nThe second stream will offer guidance and growth for experienced\, active MIs\, who may also be serving in program leadership roles\, recommending students for VA\, holding practice groups or teaching programs\, either within the Dharma Ocean lineage or in secular settings. \nDuring the week\, the two streams will both separate and come together. As always\, this is a highly experiential program\, with dyad and small group work in both streams. It is also an intensive program\, where you may be asked to lead discussion groups\, guided meditations and dharma talks. \nWhen you register\, please tell us which stream is most suited to your situation. We may suggest changes and will inform you of this before the program begins. \nIf you have not attended MI training in the last few years\, we strongly encourage you to come this year\, as this program will bring you up to date with developments in the view and practice of mentoring others. It will also provide strong preparation for the empowerments we are planning in the next few years. \nIf you are interested in acting as a small group leader\, please contact Rayann (rayann@dharmaocean.org) as soon as possible. This role is suitable for people who are accustomed to program leadership roles\, or who have acted as group leaders for MI training in the past. \n\n\nLocation\nBlazing Mountain Retreat Center \nCrestone\, CO \n \nCoordinator \ninfo@dharmaocean.org \n\n\n\n \n\nAbout the Teacher\n\nCaroline Pfohl is the lineage holder in the Dharma Ocean lineage and Spiritual Director of the Dharma Ocean Foundation\, along with Reggie Ray. She holds the role of Desung (Protector of Joy) for the community and has been named Reggie's spiritual successor. She is also the Chair of the Dharma Ocean Board of Directors. \n\n \n\n\n\nRegistration\nTraining participants must also be registered for a VTI segment that includes week 1 of VTI. Attendance at a previous VTI is a prerequisite for this training. \n\nRetreat Details\nPlease see VTI Retreat details. \n\n  \n\nFOR MORE INFORMATION\, PLEASE CALL US AT 303-955-2574 or 1-877-DHARMA9\n\n
