To know the body is to know our deepest self and to be able to roam and play in its endless fields of openness, freedom, and joy. When we know our body in its full depth, we discover love as the sole purpose of our existence and the most natural and effortless way we could ever be.
Join with us to explore the wonders of the natural body and the marvels of a fully embodied life, deeply rooted in awakening, connected with everything that is, and in the service of all who suffer.
Fields of Enlightenment is an eight-day residential retreat. The teachers, Reggie Ray and Caroline Pfohl, will guide us in exploring ways of:
- Discovering our most fundamental nature, that part of us that transcends birth and death
- Embodying this awakening as we journey into the limitless openness, wisdom, and joy that are within each of us
- Cultivating the compassion for all that is, arising out of the vastness of our heart, moment to moment
- Learning to view our own obstacles, emotional blockages, and traumas through the insight of awareness and love
- Cultivating loving-kindness towards ourselves and others, especially those with whom we have troubled relationships.
- Meeting our challenging and changing world’s problems with compassion and clarity
For those interested to engage the Vajrayana path in the Dharma Ocean lineage, this program will count for half of the Dathun requirement.
About the Teachers
Dr. Reginald “Reggie” Ray is the founder and spiritual director of the Dharma Ocean Foundation, dedicated to transmitting the somatic teachings of the Tibetan practicing lineages to modern audiences. He was a senior student of the great siddha, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and it is Rinpoche’s teachings that provide the foundation of Dharma Ocean and Reggie’s teaching.

Caroline Pfohl is the Dharma Ocean lineage successor, prime lineage holder, and co-spiritual director with Reggie. She brings to her teaching some four decades of study of Buddhist meditation, Ch’an Buddhism, and Taoist spiritual and healing arts. She is a principal on the Dharma Ocean board and holds the health and well-being role of Desung (Protector of Joy) for the community. Within Dharma Ocean she takes the lead in bringing somatic meditation into the arenas of mentoring, relationships, healing, education, design, and the arts.
