In our Vajrayana tradition, the protection principle is in operation throughout the Dharma Ocean mandala, preserving the integrity of the practicing lineage. While those who serve in the protection mandala are often the most visibly manifest aspect of the protection principle, the practice of protection is an activity shared by all who help to create and maintain containers within which we and others can hear and practice the teachings.
In this training program, participants will be introduced to the view and practice of protection in the roles and forms of the protection mandala as well as other roles of service in the Dharma Ocean mandala. Because the practice of protection builds upon our bodhisattva vow to meet others with an open and genuine heart, the teachings will also be applicable to how we manifest in our relative lives as householder yogis and yoginis. While the focus of the weekend is the view and practice of protection, the program also offers an opportunity to gather in practice and friendship as vajrasangha.

About the Teacher
Practicing for over 15-years and training with Reggie since 2004, David holds the study and practice of meditation as his primary life commitment. In 2006 he developed a meditation program based on "Meditating with the Body" at a large, non-profit research institute where he worked as a research scientist and engineer. David’s teaching draws on his love of science and a background in Japanese martial arts and explores how the depth of being uncovered in practice manifests in everyday experience. In 2013 David moved to Boulder to serve as Dharma Ocean’s Executive Director.
