SUMMARY:Meditation Instructor Training
DESCRIPTION: \n\nDuring this intensive training program\, Dharma Ocean vajrayana students will be offered the opportunity to deepen their understanding\, skills\, and experience of spiritual mentoring and meditation instruction in our lineage. \nBeing a meditation instructor (MI) is perhaps the most important way you can fulfill your bodhisattva vow; there is nothing more profound you can do to help another person on his or her path. Being an MI is\, of course\, based on the foundation of your own personal practice; your understanding of the view and the meditation practices of the Dharmasagara lineage; and your willingness to meet another person with an open and genuine heart. \nThis MI Training will be led by Caroline Pfohl.  As with other MI Trainings\, the program will include practicums where we will be working in small groups with each other (as both MI and student) to help each other refine and deepen our skills. Part of the program will include an assessment of what may be needed by each of us to further grow and become more effective as MIs. In some cases\, people newly training to be MIs may be asked to do additional study\, practice\, or other preparation prior to being authorized to be a meditation instructor. \nThis program will be happening at the same time as the Vajrayana Practice Intensive. Though these programs will be happening concurrently they will not share a curriculum or teaching space. You may only register and attend one of these programs. \nAttendance at a previous VTI is a prerequisite for MI training. Those who have already been trained as an MI in Dharma Ocean but have been inactive or need to refresh or update their previous training are encouraged to attend. \n\n\nLocation\nBlazing Mountain Retreat Center \nCrestone\, CO \n\n\n\n \n\nWho Can Attend?\nParticipation is for current tantrikas in Dharma Ocean and those who have completed Vajrayana Training Intensive. \n\nAbout the Teacher\n\nCaroline Pfohl is co-lineage holder of the Dharma Ocean lineage. She chairs the Dharma Ocean Foundation board of directors\, and holds the role of Desung (Protector of Joy) for the community. Caroline is also the founder and Chair of the Hemera Foundation\, a philanthropic organization dedicated to introducing secular contemplative views and practices into mainstream society\, focusing on education\, women and children\, and the arts. \n\n \n\n\n\nRegistration\nThis MI Training will take place at the same time as the Vajrayana Practice Intensive. Though these programs will be happening concurrently\, they will not share a curriculum or teaching space. Those doing take-down work-study will also need to stay through 5pm on departure day. There are limited seats available\, therefore we suggest that you choose this option at registration if you need this service and would like to guarantee a seat.
