Summer Meditation Intensive

June 15, 2013 - June 30, 2013

| $600

Event Navigation

Summer Meditation Intensive offers challenging training in the practice of meditation, and is structured like our Winter Dathün. Practitioners will receive instruction in traditional mindfulness-awareness practices (shamatha-vipashyana) grounded in the somatic approach developed by Dr. Reggie Ray. Body-based bodhicitta practices will be introduced that offer uniquely profound methods for awakening our hearts. The power of all of these practices will be explored as a way of cultivating our capacity for direct experience of life and reality.

In the vast mountain landscape of Crestone, this is a transformative opportunity to journey deep into the limitless openness, wisdom, and joy that are within each one of us. This is a precious opportunity to engage in these inspired teachings in the space of retreat.

Summer Meditation Intensive highlights:

  • Exploration of the body and breath as the ground and entry gate to the meditative state
  • Intensive meditation practice schedule
  • Emphasis on silence to deepen the space of practice and open awareness
  • Training in the essential meditation teachings of the practicing lineage

Summer Meditation Intensive is offered as a full program as well as in week-long segments. Participation in the full program is strongly encouraged as the longer retreat time enables us to settle deeper into the practice and the retreat space. Those who want to attend for a single week and who have not previously attended a Dathün are required to register for Week 1. Those who have attended Winter Dathün or Summer Meditation Intensive previously may register for Week 2 only.

Please note: Participation in this retreat counts toward the Dathün requirement in the path structure for Dharma Ocean members.
