In this Friday evening and Saturday event led by Dharma Ocean Senior Teacher Tami Simon, we will explore the practice of embodied meditation. A huge shift occurs when we invest our attention into the feeling life of the body instead of the activity of our discursive mind. We become rooted in the experience of being and in the intense aliveness of the present moment.
'Taking Your Seat' is a weekend program designed to introduce new and experienced meditators to Meditating with the Body, a training program that invites participants to fully experience their somatic life without holding anything back. We will explore sitting meditating in such a way that we are fully inhabiting the inner space of the body while being open to whatever inner callings or imperatives might arise. We will learn what it might mean to "take our seat" – both on the meditation cushion and in life.This event will include guided meditation, talks, and an opportunity to ask questions

Retreat Details
The program will take place on Friday evening and Saturday:
Friday, April 17: 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Saturday, April 18: 9:00 am – 5:00pm (with a break for lunch* from 12:00 – 1:00 pm)
*Lunch will not be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a bagged lunch. There are also several restaurants within walking distance.
About the Teacher
Tami Simon is the Founder and Publisher of Sounds True, an independent multi-media company dedicated to disseminating spiritual wisdom. Tami began studying with Reggie Ray in 2001 and began teaching "Meditating with the Body" introductory workshops in 2007. Her areas of special interest include authentic leadership and applying spiritual principles to organizational life. Tami lives in Boulder, Colorado with her partner Julie Kramer.
