VTI Children’s Program

July 29, 2018 - August 11, 2018

2016_VPI_700x200_2

This new program will highlight the playfulness and awe of childhood, through experiential lessons for children (ages 2-6) to deepen their understanding of self as sacred, and life as interconnected with all that is.

Through age-appropriate lessons, children will develop a familiarity to Buddhist and Dharma Ocean teachings, for practice in their family, friendships, and daily lives. Activities will include music, songs, yoga poses, games, free play, imagination, art projects, and storytelling.

Individual and group interactions will strengthen mindful attention, cooperative relationship skills, and body awareness. Activities will be facilitated by Dharma Ocean practitioner and skilled youth educator, Leyna Roget Brabant. Minimal parent participation is required during the meditation program, in service of providing a safe container that meets the needs of all ages.

There will be opportunities for families to share in their learnings together, through facilitated Family Yoga Play. During this time, adults will be guided to expand limiting beliefs about their child's natural wisdom and learning style, engage emotional triggers with compassion, and bring awareness to expectations, fears, or criticisms that enable a deeper connection with their child.
