Dharma Ocean is committed to helping as many people attend programs as possible. To that end, we offer partial scholarships, financial aid, and work-study positions for Dharma Ocean sponsored retreats. Awards are based on financial need.
Financial need is defined as the inability to pay in full for a retreat, based on an individual’s total financial situation. The total number of scholarships and amount of each award are determined on a retreat-by-retreat basis dependent on enrollment, scholarship requests, and availability of funds. Before applying for a scholarship you must register for the program you wish to attend. During registration you will be given the option to defer payment until your application has been reviewed. If you are applying for a scholarship, you will be required to select dorm style accommodations.
After you have completed registration fill out this application for financial aid.
Fellowship Opportunities for Educators
As part of the Hemera Foundation’s Contemplative Fellowships for Educators program, Dharma Ocean is able to offer full and partial fellowships to qualified applicants.
These fellowships are available to people who currently work full-time in pre-K or K-12 education, or are enrolled in a Master’s degree program in education. The long term vision of these fellowships is that they become the basis for an ever-expanding community of educators whose lives and teaching are informed and supported by contemplative practice.
Those who have never attended a residential meditation retreat of more than two nights (whether at Dharma Ocean or elsewhere), are eligible for a full scholarship. For those whose meditation retreat experience is more extensive, support is based on financial need.

Fellowships for Healthcare Professionals
As part of the Hemera Foundation’s Contemplative Fellowships for Healthcare Professional Program (CFHP), Dharma Ocean is offering full fellowships to qualified professionals.
These fellowships are available to those who are employed fulltime in the healthcare field, who work primarily with patients/clients or oversee other healthcare professionals, and who have never attended a meditation retreat longer than a weekend.
Qualified applicants include doctors, nurses, medical assistants, chaplains, and administrators of health care professionals. Anyone eligible for a CFHP fellowship will be offered 100% funding, with the opportunity to contribute payment for a portion of their retreat if they are able and would like to do so.
